Tamdhu Cask Strength Batch 008 – Untamed Speyside Power from Sherry Casks

With Cask Strength Batch 008, Tamdhu presents one of the most intense expressions from its distillery: uncolored, non-chill-filtered, and bottled directly from the cask. Tamdhu Distillery on the banks of the River Spey is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that exclusively matures its whisky in hand-selected Oloroso sherry casks – and with the Cask Strength Edition, this character comes to full fruition. Batch 008 is a limited release that concentrates the essence of this philosophy at 55.8% ABV.

Taste Experience

The nose opens with opulent depth: dark cherries, plum jam, and dark chocolate, carried by the warm sweetness of Oloroso sherry. On the palate, the cask strength unfolds with powerful warmth – dried figs, walnuts, and cinnamon combine with a deep, resinous oak spice. A drop of water opens additional layers of caramel and dried fruit sweetness. The finish is long, spicy-warming, and leaves an elegant bitterness of dark cocoa.
