Collection: Bruichladdich

The Bruichladdich Collection has embodied a progressive Islay philosophy since 1881 , thanks to the Harvey brothers, who created a modern distillery on the shores of Loch Indaal with state-of-the-art Victorian design. Following a dramatic closure in 1994 , the distillery was reborn in 2000 by Mark Reynier and Jim McEwan (formerly of Bowmore), who transformed it into a powerhouse. Its unique three-brand strategy is remarkable : Bruichladdich (unpeated, floral and fruity), Port Charlotte (heavily peated), and Octomore the world's most heavily peated single malt with up to 309 ppm. Production is carried out without computers , using original Victorian machinery from 1881 , controlled by dipsticks and manual measuring instruments. Only Scottish barley is used , some of which, since 2004, has been sourced from Islay farms with traceability back to the individual field. As the island's largest private employer (60 jobs) and one of only two distilleries with on-site bottling, every bottling combines terroir transparency with rebellious innovation. Since 2012 , under Rémy Cointreau , with the additional production of The Botanist Gin – progressive luxury from a Victorian heart.
