Maturation & Special Features

The Càirdeas 2014 Edition undergoes careful maturation in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a finish in Amontillado sherry casks. This combination gives the whisky a unique balance between peaty smoke and nutty, dry sherry notes. As a Feis Ile bottling, this edition is strictly limited and was created specifically for the annual Islay Whisky Festival – a must-have for collectors and Laphroaig enthusiasts.

Bright golden yellow with warm amber tones that reflect the Amontillado ripening process.

Intense peat smoke and medicinal notes meet nutty Amontillado aromas. Roasted almonds, dried apricots, and orange peel meld with vanilla, caramel, and a hint of iodine. Underpinned by maritime saltiness and spicy oak.

palate

Powerful smoke and ashy peat, accompanied by dry sherry notes with roasted nuts, honey, and citrus. Maritime salinity and spicy oak notes create a complex depth of flavor with hints of white pepper and cloves.

finish

Long-lasting and warming, with a perfect balance of peat, nutty sherry notes, and spicy oak. The smoky aromas fade slowly, leaving a hint of roasted almonds and sea salt.
