Distilled in 2002, this exceptional 18-year-old Highland Park Single Cask was personally selected by Master Whisky Distiller Gordon Motion. It matured in a single refill sherry butt (cask no. 90001) and was bottled at cask strength in 2021 – limited to just 515 bottles worldwide.

Special feature

For whisky aged 18 years or more, only a few casks remain available. The casks in this Single Cask series are therefore simply the most exceptional Highland Park casks available. Some of the most outstanding single cask bottlings come from refill casks, as these often held whisky only briefly and can therefore be quite forgiving during subsequent maturation.

Tasting Notes

aroma

It opens with rich aromas of orchard fruits and toasted heather. Sweet honey notes then come to the fore, followed by a robust taste of chocolate and roasted almonds. Pure bliss.

palate

As expected, this is a rich, full-bodied sip. Dry on the tongue, with ever-present aromas of chocolate, cinnamon, and spices. Toasted oak notes dominate, but the chocolate flavors still come through.

finish

A long, smooth finish where the initial dryness gives way to sweetness. The smoky, floral peat aromas now emerge, leaving a delicious, lingering taste in the mouth.
