Rarely can the art of cask maturation be experienced as directly in the glass as with this GlenAllachie from the exclusive Sinteis series. The name "Sinteis" means "synthesis" in Gaelic – and that exact idea defines Part IV: fruity Sherry cask maturation meets the distinctive spice of rare Mongolian oak.

The Synthesis of Rare Woods

Under the guidance of Master Distiller Billy Walker, this Speyside Single Malt was distilled in 2015 and bottled in 2026 after ten years of maturation. Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks form the lush, fruity base, while a finish in Mongolian Virgin Oak adds depth, fine spice, and dark roasted aromas. Bottled at a powerful 58.5% ABV, the whisky is presented without artificial coloring and without chill filtration.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Golden butterscotch and dark molasses combine with baked apples and pears. Cocoa, spicy cinnamon, and candied ginger lend the bouquet an intense, complex depth.

Palate

Candied hazelnuts, ripe plum syrup, and bitter mocha meet baked orange, Manuka honey, and fig jam. The mouthfeel is full-bodied, multi-layered, and velvety, carried by the powerful cask strength.

Finish

Long, multi-layered, and harmonious with gentle notes of fig, vanilla, and an elegant trace of oak spice.
