A limited bottling, which was put together entirely according to the personal ideas of founder and chairman Stewart Laing. The Ardnahoe Chairman's Selection combines selected sherry and bourbon casks to create a powerful, peaty Islay character – matured for six years and bottled at 60.2% vol. at cask strength.

Production & Maturation

Distilled at the Ardnahoe Distillery on the northeast coast of Islay, this single malt matured for six years in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. The choice of casks gives the whisky remarkable depth: the smoky Islay character is wonderfully complemented by the sweetness of the sherry cask notes and the vanilla character of the bourbon wood. Bottled without chill filtration at natural cask strength.

Aroma

Peat smoke opens the nose, accompanied by coastal sea breeze and rich cocoa.

The smoke deepens to an earthy, glowing intensity – complemented by lemon curd, honey malt and stewed plums.

Long and drying – ash, glowing peat, black pepper and a hint of salted toffee.
